Planning for Blended Learning
As we look forward to next school year, there are a lot of questions and very few answers right now.
The best course of action may be to start collecting resources that can be used for distance learning OR blended learning OR the classroom.
WonderGrove Social Skills and Habits of Mind Animations are perfect tools for blended learning, distance learning, and in class learning!
Teachers can show animations in class and practice the fluency. Students will remember the topic and characters and have already practiced the fluency passage… and we know that repeated reading is one of the most impactful interventions for reading fluency!
This is a great transition to a day of at-home learning because students will be excited to show their parents how well they can read the fluency passage. Students will also love the active learning project as well as putting the printable book together and reading it over and over! The coloring page is a great quiet activity for parents who are trying to work from home. Last, the extension lessons are practice for students that have a little extra motivation because they feature the WonderGrove kids!
Parents will appreciate the predictability of the layout and type of lessons being send home as well as the fact that they are learning social emotional skills during what may prove to be a difficult school year for everyone!
